Challenge
Bayside Health engaged RCR Services to address water ingress and deteriorated waterproofing across the Physio courtyard and adjoining rooftop areas. Existing membranes and underlying substrates required extensive removal and preparation.
As the project progressed, additional works were identified in the open rooftop area, including screed removal, expansion joint remediation and new roofing. These works required coordination across multiple trades within an operational healthcare facility.

RCR Services removed the deteriorated membranes, prepared the underlying substrates and installed a multi-layer Soprema bitumen waterproofing system with perimeter, penetration and termination detailing. In the open rooftop area, existing screed was removed to the structural slab and a reinforced concrete hob was constructed at the expansion joint.
A new Colorbond Klip-Lok roofing system was also installed with supporting structural framing, box gutter and sump drainage, wall cladding and associated flashings, providing an integrated weatherproofing solution.
