Challenges arose at Wyong TAFE, where the combination of dense foliage and extensive use had taken a toll on the existing roofing. The project required a comprehensive solution encompassing reroofing, rainwater system overhaul, and limited disruptions to the academic environment.

The objectives were clear: rejuvenate the campus buildings’ roofing, enhance rainwater drainage efficiency, and ensure minimal disturbances to students and faculty. RCR Services was entrusted with this multifaceted task, aiming to engineer an innovative over-roof system that adhered to stringent wind load standards while preserving the campus’s architectural aesthetics.

RCR’s strategic approach involved collaborating with industry partners to design a bespoke gutter system, complete with powder-coated stainless steel brackets. These seamlessly integrated with the chosen Kliplok 700 roofing, ready to handle even the heaviest rainfall. Enhanced insulation further improved thermal and acoustic performance.
Through meticulous planning and execution, the over-roof strategy allowed RCR to conduct extensive roofing work while maintaining uninterrupted campus activities. The end result was transformative: Wyong TAFE now boasts upgraded drainage, superior insulation, an appealing metal roof that harmonises with the campus design, and an undisrupted academic schedule.
